Interfacial Fracture Mechanics
Organized by: P.B.N. Prasad, GE India Technology Centre Pvt. Ltd., INDIA & K.V.N. Gopal, Indian Institute of Science, INDIA
This symposium is aimed at bringing together researchers working on interfacial fracture problems. As interfaces play a major role in the overall behaviour of composites and bi-materials, the main focus of this symposium is to address issues related to interfacial failures, computationally and experimentally.
Problems of interest include (but not limited to) interface crack kinking, estimation of effective properties of composites due to interfacial cracks, novel approaches in modeling interface cracks, crack interaction studies, experimental characterization of interfacial failures, thin film fracture, interfacial failures due to thermo-mechanical loads, etc. Novel contributions to computational and experimental characterization of interfacial failures are welcome.
